Mission District Intervention

This Project is about looking for a problem in a specific place in the Bay Area and finding a solution.
It was divided into 2 phases.
Phase 1: Research and concepting; Phase 2: Deliverable.
My area of interest was the Mission District and more specifically Mission Street.
I have done a lot of research in this area that could be found on this site.

From my conclusion:
Different nationalities and civilization lived and are still living in the United States and The Mission. It is a place for everyone. Technologies have changes almost everything on earth and as long as it is on the rise it will keep on modifying and adjusting everything around us.
Gentrification is an ongoing procedure that started years ago when the first citizens moved to the Mission.
Gentrification will try to force itself into the Mission just like it did years ago.
Iconographic symbols that represent Mission Street and its multiculturalism
The colors are inspired by the Mission Street graffiti.

Map 1 is shows the distribution of Victorian houses, modern houses, density and Mexican restaurants on Mission Street between 16th and 19th Street.

Map 2 is shows the distribution of Victorian and modern houses, trash and graffiti between Mission and Valencia Street.

The intervention is to make people from Valencia and Mission Street blend together pushing them to discover the characteristics of each street.
